Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Over the Road (OTR) Class A Driver to join our team and represent us on the highways. As an OTR Driver, you will be responsible for safely transporting cars across long distances, ensuring timely deliveries while adhering to all safety and regulatory standards. This role offers an exciting opportunity to operate a variety of commercial trucks, including tractor-trailers for 9 cars ,8 cars and 7 cars while maintaining a focus on customer service and operational excellence. Your dedication will help us deliver cars efficiently and reliably across extensive routes.
Duties
- Safely operate commercial trucks, including tractor-trailers for 9,8 and 7 cars following all FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) and DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations.
- Plan and execute over-the-road (OTR) driving routes using GPS navigation systems to optimize delivery schedules and routes.
- Load and unload cars ensuring cargo is secured properly according to logistics cargo handling standards.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, vehicle inspections, delivery documentation, and compliance records in accordance with FMCSA regulations.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after trips to ensure safety standards are met; report any mechanical issues promptly.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding delivery status, route changes, or safety concerns during transit.
- Ensure all freight is cars on time while providing excellent customer service at delivery points.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in commercial truck driving, including route driving for freight delivery across long distances.
- Valid CDL (Commercial Driver’s License)
- Demonstrated ability to operate manual transmission trucks and handle loading/unloading procedures of cars.
- Knowledge of automobile transportation is a must.
- Familiarity with GPS navigation systems and route planning tools for efficient journey management.
- Strong understanding of FMCSA regulations, DOT requirements, hazardous materials regulations, and safety protocols for truck driving.
- Excellent manual handling skills for load & unload activities.
- Ability to maintain focus during extended periods of driving while adhering to safety standards at all times.
