About the Role
This position focuses on the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of electrical fire alarm systems. As a Systems Technician, you will ensure that these systems operate at peak performance with minimal downtime, while keeping clients informed about system status and efficiency.
Core Responsibilities

Analyze and interpret schematics, blueprints, submittals, and technical specifications.

Oversee equipment installations to ensure they align with client requirements and project standards.

Execute full-cycle fire alarm system installations, including technical reviews, wiring, device mounting, and programming.

Utilize various power and hand tools to complete installation tasks effectively.

Commit to ongoing professional development regarding new software, security, and fire system technologies.

Identify and diagnose equipment malfunctions to resolve technical issues promptly.

Recommend cost-effective and efficient solutions to help restore client equipment to full functionality.

Support the team in performing routine preventive maintenance on client systems.

Maintain precise documentation for inventory, service tickets, and time tracking.

Help maintain a safe working environment for the entire team by following all safety protocols.

Perform additional tasks as directed by management.
Accountability
You will report directly to the Project Manager, while also maintaining professional accountability to the broader management team, your colleagues, and our clients.
Qualifications

Minimum of five years of experience in the service, maintenance, and testing of fire alarm systems, with knowledge of CCTV and access control as a bonus.

Background as a low voltage technician or apprentice electrician, including hands-on experience with security and fire hardware.

Strong interpersonal and communication abilities to foster positive client relationships.
Education Requirements

High school diploma and NICET certification, with the ability to perform basic math and communicate in English.

Preference for candidates with factory-specific training.

Proficiency in computer applications and familiarity with relevant industry codes like NFPA and NICET.
Travel
Occasional travel to off-site locations may be necessary.

You should be capable of managing multiple priorities, providing superior service to internal and external stakeholders, and working effectively with diverse teams. Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite is required, as is the ability to plan and execute projects to meet deadlines. You must be able to handle high-pressure situations, interpret business documentation, and possess a valid driver’s license.
