Job Overview
Our small family-owned and operated construction company is looking for a part-time, experienced Commercial Driver's License (CDL) A Truck Driver to haul construction materials and boulders locally in the Lehigh Valley. Our current truck is a 10-wheeler dump truck, but we are looking to grow and add triaxles in the future. Your expertise will ensure safe, timely deliveries while adhering to all federal and state transportation regulations. Responsibilities
- Safely operate our truck(s) across assigned routes.
- Move heavy equipment from jobsite to jobsite.
- Navigate using GPS systems efficiently to meet delivery schedules.
- Deliver materials accurately to designated locations and ensuring proper documentation throughout the delivery process (receipts, etc.)
- Comply with all FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations, DOT (Department of Transportation) rules, and other safety standards during operations.
- Perform routine vehicle inspections before and after trips; report any maintenance issues promptly to maintain safety standards.
- Maintain detailed logs of driving hours, delivery records, and inspection reports in accordance with DOT regulations.
Requirements
- Valid CDL Class A license with a clean driving record.
- Proven experience in commercial truck driving.
- Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT rules, PUC rules, and safety protocols related to truck loading/unloading and manual handling.
- Ability to operate manual transmission trucks confidently
- Strong navigation skills using GPS navigation systems; ability to adapt to changing routes efficiently.
