A highly respected AmLaw 100 firm is seeking a Labor & Employment Associate Attorney to join its New York office.
This opportunity is ideal for an attorney interested in representing employers in sophisticated employment litigation, counseling, traditional labor matters, and workplace investigations.
- 3–6 years of labor and employment experience gained at a sophisticated law firm
- Experience representing employers across a broad range of industries in employment-related matters
- Experience handling employment litigation involving discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wage and hour disputes, restrictive covenant enforcement, wrongful termination, and other workplace claims in federal and state courts
- Experience advising employers on day-to-day employment counseling , including hiring, discipline, terminations, accommodations, leaves of absence, employee handbooks, workplace policies, and compliance matters
- Experience conducting internal workplace investigations and advising clients regarding risk management and employment best practices
- Experience with traditional labor matters , including collective bargaining, unfair labor practice proceedings, union avoidance, labor arbitrations, and proceedings before the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB), is a plus
- Strong legal research, writing, analytical, negotiation, and oral advocacy skills
- Ability to independently manage sophisticated employment matters while maintaining significant client interaction
- Excellent academic credentials
- J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school required
- New York bar admission required or ability to become admitted
