Job Summary
The Director of Sales & Marketing is responsible for leading the hotel’s sales, marketing, revenue growth, and community engagement efforts. This role develops and executes strategic sales plans to maximize occupancy, increase revenue, grow market share, and strengthen the hotel’s presence within the local community and extended-stay market. The Director of Sales & Marketing works closely with hotel leadership to drive guest satisfaction, build client relationships, and achieve financial goals while upholding Marriott brand standards.
- Develop and execute strategic sales and marketing plans to achieve revenue, occupancy, ADR, and RevPAR goals
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities including corporate accounts, group business, sports teams, government, and extended-stay travelers
- Maintain and grow relationships with local businesses, travel planners, relocation companies, and community partners
- Conduct outside sales calls, networking events, and property tours to generate leads and close business
- Manage and monitor all online reputation platforms including Marriott channels, social media, and review sites
- Collaborate with Revenue Management and hotel leadership to optimize pricing strategies and forecasting
- Analyze STR reports, market trends, and competitor activity to identify opportunities for growth
- Create and oversee promotional campaigns, hotel packages, and local partnerships to increase ancillary revenue
- Maintain accurate sales activity, account management, and forecasting within Marriott sales systems
- Lead weekly sales meetings and provide regular updates on production, goals, and performance metrics
- Coordinate with Operations departments to ensure successful execution of group events and guest experiences
- Participate in community organizations, Chamber of Commerce events, and local tourism initiatives
- Ensure compliance with Marriott brand standards and company policies
- Assist with budgeting, annual business planning, and monthly reporting processes
Pay: $65,000.00 - $72,000.00 per year
