QUALIFICATIONS
- Valid California Credential in middle school level Theater or a Career Technical Education credential in Arts, Media
& Entertainment or English (if issued prior to 1/01/22) and English Learner authorization required (must be
completed by August 10, 2026)

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and work closely with a wide range of
stakeholders
- Passion for working with children; ability to motivate and support students in reaching high levels of academic
success
- Ability to efficiently interpret, manage, and utilize multiple sets of data in order to best support student progress
- A results-oriented, goal drive, collaborative approach to work
- Ability to learn laws, rules, policies, practices and procedures related to public education and specific to Los
Alamitos Unified School District
- Well-grounded in learning and reinforcement theory
- Ability to work with students individually and in small or large groups
- Ability to be flexible and revise priorities in accordance with requirements of student needs, school goals and district
priorities along with a strong commitment to learn
- Successful classroom teaching experience preferred
- Outstanding skills in problem-solving, critical-thinking, innovation and creativity
- Preference given to qualified applicant willing to coach or supervise extra-curricular activity
ASSIGNMENT
• Teaching two consecutive sections of Drama at the middle school level
- Assignment begins: August 10, 2026
SALARY
• With any Single or Multiple credential, then placement on Placement on Certificated Salary Schedule with starting
salary between $75,315 (Step 1) - $114,714 (Step 10), pro-rated to 40%; maximum outside years accepted nine;
including up to two years credit for Substitute Teaching experience
- With only a CTE credential, then placement on Career Technical Education Credentialed Salary Schedule with starting
salary between $51,341 (Step 1) - $84,045 (Step 10),
pro-rated to 40% plus annual Merit stipend between $5,000-
$8,000; maximum outside years accepted nine; including up to two years credit for Substitute Teaching experience
