Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Veterinary Imaging Technician/Imaging Manager to lead our veterinary imaging department. This vital role combines hands-on technical expertise with leadership responsibilities to ensure the delivery of high-quality diagnostic imaging services. The ideal candidate will possess a strong interest or background in veterinary imaging modalities such as CT, radiology, and sonography, along with exceptional animal handling skills. As a key team member, you will oversee daily operations, maintain equipment, and uphold the highest standards of animal care and safety. Duties
- Operate and maintain advanced medical imaging equipment including CT and ultrasound devices and accessories to produce clear diagnostic images.
- Manage daily imaging department operations, ensuring efficient scheduling, patient flow, and quality control.
- Lead and supervise imaging staff, providing training on equipment use, safety protocols, and animal restraint techniques.
- Ensure proper aseptic techniques and infection control procedures are followed during all imaging procedures.
- Assist veterinary teams with image acquisition and collaborate on diagnostic plans for complex cases involving critical care or emergency medicine.
- Handle diverse animal species with expertise in animal restraint, anatomy knowledge, and handling techniques to ensure safe procedures.
- Maintain detailed records of imaging procedures, equipment maintenance logs, and compliance documentation in accordance with veterinary standards.
Qualifications
- Experience as a veterinary technician specializing in diagnostic imaging or equivalent veterinary experience.
- Strong knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal physiology, and anatomy related to radiology diagnostics.
- Hands-on experience with general anesthesia, sedation protocols, vascular access, IV insertion, and animal catheterization techniques.
- Familiarity with laboratory procedures such as phlebotomy and laboratory sample handling is preferred.
- Excellent animal handling skills.
- Ability to operate medical equipment safely and effectively while adhering to aseptic techniques and radiation safety standards.
- Leadership experience or management skills are highly desirable for overseeing the imaging team and departmental workflows.
