At the Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro North, our mission is "To enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens."
Currently, our Clubs serve over 500 children a day and last year served nearly 8,000 youth. During the school year, we operate 5 licensed afterschool program and, three teen centers. We have increased Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics (STEAM) classes, from teaching children how to 3D print to learning financial literacy. We are pioneering dynamic new programming in art, music, mental health, social work, and workforce development.
Position Overview:
The Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro North is seeking an enthusiastic, creative, and self-motivated Enrichment Coordinator to develop, implement, and support high-quality Art, Music, and STEM programming at the Main Clubhouse at 15 Dale Court. This position will create engaging, age-appropriate curriculum and program activities for Kindergarten through fourth grade that encourage creativity, curiosity, exploration, critical thinking, self-expression, and skill development.
The Enrichment Coordinator will serve as a key resource for Clubhouse enrichment staff by developing curriculum, preparing program materials, supporting curriculum implementation, and directly facilitating programming as needed. The Coordinator will ensure programs align with BGCMN goals, Boys & Girls Clubs of America (BGCA) standards, and the developmental needs and interests of Club members.
Key Responsibilities:
Curriculum Development & Program Planning
- Develop and create engaging Art, Music, and STEM curriculum for elementary, middle school, and teen members.
- Design project-based, hands-on activities that promote creativity, problem-solving, collaboration, and skill development.
- Develop lesson plans, activity guides, program resources, and supply lists for enrichment staff.
- Adapt curriculum to meet the different ages, abilities, interests, and needs of Club members.
- Incorporate BGCA curriculum, resources, and youth development practices into enrichment programming.
- Continuously evaluate and update curriculum based on staff feedback, youth engagement, and program outcomes.
- Develop specialty programs, workshops, projects, and enrichment experiences throughout the school year and summer.
Curriculum Implementation & Staff Support
- Implement Art, Music, and STEM curriculum directly with members as needed.
- Support enrichment staff in effectively delivering assigned curriculum and activities.
- Model strong program facilitation, classroom management, and positive youth engagement.
- Provide staff with clear instructions, resources, and expectations for implementing curriculum.
- Observe programs and provide coaching and feedback to improve program quality.
- Step in to lead programs when staffing needs, coverage, or program schedules require additional support.
- Ensure staff are prepared with the appropriate materials, lesson plans, and supplies before programs begin.
Site Support & Family Engagement
- Assist the Site Director with parent and family communication, including preparing and distributing weekly newsletters, program updates, announcements, and other Club communications.
- Support the Site Director in keeping families informed about upcoming programs, events, schedules, and enrichment opportunities.
- Assist with the planning, coordination, and facilitation of large-scale program events and special events at the Main Clubhouse.
- Serve as the backup site support staff member when the Site Director is out or as needed, helping maintain daily program operations, staff coverage, youth supervision, and Club expectations.
- Support the Site Director with day-to-day Club operations and assist with addressing program or staffing needs as they arise.
- Communicate with Club leadership regarding site needs, program concerns, and opportunities for improvement.
- Help ensure the Club maintains a safe, organized, welcoming, and engaging environment for members, families, and staff.
Youth Engagement & Development
- Create programs that provide members with opportunities to explore interests, build skills, and express themselves creatively.
- Incorporate youth voice and choice into curriculum and program development.
- Maintain a positive, inclusive, and engaging program environment.
- Supervise members and maintain appropriate behavioral and Club expectations during programming.
- Build positive relationships with members and encourage participation and personal growth.
Program Coordination
- Assist with developing enrichment schedules and program calendars.
- Coordinate materials, supplies, equipment, and resources needed for Art, Music, and STEM programming.
- Support special events, showcases, exhibitions, performances, workshops, and project-based programming.
- Collaborate with other Enrichment staff and Club departments to create cross-disciplinary programming.
- Maintain organized curriculum resources, activity files, and program materials for use across Club locations.
- Assist with program documentation, attendance, participation, and other required program records.
Quality & Professional Expectations
- Ensure programming is safe, organized, inclusive, and developmentally appropriate.
- Follow all BGCMN policies, procedures, safety requirements, and staff expectations.
- Maintain professional communication with Club leadership, staff, members, and families.
- Participate in staff meetings, trainings, professional development, and other required meetings.
- Demonstrate flexibility and willingness to support programs and Club operations as needed.
- Perform other duties related to enrichment programming as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Coursework or degree in a related field preferred (childcare/ education, art, music, STEM).
- Willingness to obtain First Aid/CPR certification (provided by BGC).
- Must pass reference, CORI, and SORI checks.
Skills and experience:
- Minimum of 2 years experience working with youth.
- Experience developing or implementing youth programming, curriculum, or educational activities.
- Experience or knowledge in Art, Music, STEM, education, youth development, or a related field.
- Strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to create engaging, hands-on learning experiences for youth.
- Ability to work with multiple age groups and adapt activities to different skill levels.
- Ability to work independently while also supporting and collaborating with a team.

- IT and computer skills for general productivity (Google/ MS Suite) and relevant to operating and troubleshooting program materials.

Organization-wide responsibilities:

- Work is performed on-site, predominantly inside but also outside at times.
- Hours: 9:30am - 6pm Monday - Friday with a 30 minute unpaid lunch break.
- Monthly half days in accordance with the Stoneham Public School schedules and occasional evenings and weekends for training, events or special programs.
- In-person, after-school program working across 4 EEC locations in Stoneham.
- Required attendance at monthly evening staff meetings or trainings
