Position Summary
This position is responsible for coordinating design changes across a portfolio of hardware products. This position will assist various engineering teams by being a point contact for the product data management (PDM) system used to manage CAD and BOM processes. This position will also own the various labels used for the assembly, installation, and operations of the hardware products.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop PDM expertise for part/assembly version control, BOM, and CAD management, assist engineers by
- Following the change management process to update 3D bodies, drawings, and BOMs
- Updating CAD assemblies to reflect replacements of End of Life (EOL) parts
- Classifying “standard/commodity parts” to enable attribute searches and parts reuse
- Releasing latest CAD and BOM revisions to stakeholders
- Reconciling discrepancies between external as-built manufacturer BOMs vs internal engineering BOMs
- Ordering, classifying, shipping, receiving, and tracking parts as needed
- Design labels for hardware products
- Create label packets, and guide design and manufacturing partners
- Collaborate with external partners for label creation, logo panels, and nameplate manufacturing
- Work with the Regulatory lead to ensure compliance of labels content
- Document installation procedures with photos or drawings showing label placement
- Draft status, risk, and contingency plan reports for upper management
- Occasionally work 40+ hours in a week to meet certain team milestones
- Perform other duties as needed
Education and Credential Requirements
- Associate’s degree in a business or technical field
- Eligible to work in the US without RLA sponsorship for employment visa status
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 2+ years of experience in a technical coordinator or technical project manager role
- Use of a product data management (PDM) system (e.g., Windchill) to update 3D bodies, drawings, BOMs, and related design intent documentation used by large R&D and manufacturing teams
- Use of CAD to view/modify 3D bodies (e.g., SolidWorks, Creo Elements Direct, or similar packages)
- Worked with external design and manufacturing partners, coordinating documentation needed for engineering and mass production builds
- Experience drafting/modifying assembly/installation SOPs of hardware products
Preferred experience
- Working with Windchill (PDM) to manage CAD and BOM changes
- Working with Adobe Illustrator, and Adobe Acrobat Editor to create graphic art designs (highly preferred)
Skills Requirements
- Ability to read, write, and speak English proficiently
- High proficiency using productivity software such as M365 (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Teams and SharePoint)
- Ability to use agile/scrum project/program management principles and methodologies to consistently meet task deadlines, triage changing priorities, and track issues to resolution
- Ability to collaborate across diverse teams with a customer service mindset
