Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced HVAC Superintendent to lead and oversee large-scale heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) projects within the construction industry. Duties
- Lead and supervise HVAC installation teams on construction sites, ensuring work is performed safely, efficiently, and according to project specifications.
- Review construction drawings and technical plans to interpret HVAC system layouts, specifications, and technical requirements accurately.
- Coordinate construction schedules with project managers using construction management software such as Primavera P6 or HeavyBid to ensure timely project delivery.
- Manage procurement processes for HVAC materials and equipment, ensuring compliance with contracts and budget constraints.
- Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, enforce OSHA safety regulations, and uphold federal construction safety standards.
- Review blueprints and technical drawings for accuracy; oversee quality control measures to meet industry standards.
- Supervise crews by managing team assignments, providing training on construction safety management, and fostering effective communication among team members.
- Collaborate with subcontractors, vendors, and clients to resolve technical issues promptly while maintaining project timelines.
- Oversee construction schedule coordination and adjust plans as needed to address unforeseen challenges or delays.
- Ensure all work complies with local building codes, construction regulations, and safety protocols including OSHA standards.
- Utilize tools such as Ohmmeters for electrical testing; interpret technical data for troubleshooting HVAC systems during installation or maintenance phases.
Experience
- Proven experience in heavy commercial or federal construction projects with a focus on HVAC systems management.
- Demonstrated supervisory experience supervising teams in a construction management role within the HVAC or broader mechanical trades.
- Strong background in construction scheduling using Primavera P6 or Primavera; familiarity with Bluebeam for document review is preferred.
- Extensive knowledge of blueprint reading, technical drawing review, and interpreting complex construction documents.
- Hands-on experience with construction safety management practices aligned with OSHA and federal regulations.
- Skilled in managing budgets, contracts, and procurement processes related to large-scale HVAC projects.
- Familiarity with construction management software such as ProCore or similar platforms for project tracking and reporting.
- Ability to effectively communicate managerial expectations while fostering teamwork across diverse crews on active sites.
- Construction site experience emphasizing quality control measures; adept at supervising multiple subcontractors simultaneously.
