We are seeking a passionate and dynamic Child Care Director to lead and manage our early childhood education center. Responsibilities
- Lead the development and implementation of age-appropriate curriculum focused on early childhood education, childhood development, and social-emotional growth.
- Supervise and support teaching staff, ensuring classroom management, behavior management, and caregiving standards are upheld.
- Oversee child supervision to ensure safety at all times, including infant care, toddler care, and preschool activities.
- Maintain compliance with mandated reporting laws, health and safety regulations, including first aid, pediatric first aid, CPR certification, and daycare licensing requirements.
- Communicate regularly with parents regarding their child's progress, behavior, and developmental milestones to foster strong partnerships.
- Manage classroom experience logistics such as scheduling, supplies procurement, and maintaining a positive learning environment.
- Conduct staff training on topics like special education needs, working with children with disabilities, child supervision techniques, and classroom management strategies.
- Ensure all childcare practices align with state regulations and best practices in early childhood education.
- Handle administrative duties including record keeping for child attendance, incident reports, health records, and staff documentation.
- Promote a collaborative team environment that encourages professional growth and continuous improvement in caregiving quality.
Experience
- Proven experience working with children across various age groups including infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and children with special needs or disabilities.
- Prior classroom experience in daycare centers or early childhood education settings is essential.
- Demonstrated leadership skills in managing a team of childcare professionals or teachers.
- Knowledge of childhood development instruction methods and behavior management techniques.
- Familiarity with mandated reporting laws related to child safety and welfare.
- Certification in first aid, CPR (including pediatric first aid), and child safety procedures is required; additional certifications in special education or working with children with disabilities are highly valued.
- Experience engaging effectively with parents to communicate developmental progress and address concerns professionally.
