We are seeking an experienced Cloud Platform Manager to lead, design, and operate scalable, secure, and resilient cloud platforms on Microsoft Azure. This is a highly visible player/coach role that blends hands-on cloud engineering with project delivery, technical leadership, and team management.
The Cloud Platform Manager will oversee a small team of Azure engineers while remaining deeply involved in cloud architecture, platform strategy, infrastructure automation, and operational excellence. The ideal candidate enjoys building modern cloud environments, solving complex infrastructure challenges, and partnering across teams to deliver scalable, secure solutions that support critical business initiatives.

Design, implement, and evolve Azure-based cloud platforms supporting enterprise applications and business operations
Translate business and technical requirements into scalable, secure cloud solutions aligned with Azure best practices
Lead and contribute to architecture decisions across networking, compute, storage, identity, and container platforms including AKS
Build and maintain Azure services including virtual networks, storage accounts, databases, Azure AD, AKS, and related technologies
Develop and maintain infrastructure-as-code using Terraform, ARM templates, PowerShell, Azure CLI, or similar tools
Serve as an escalation point for complex cloud platform issues, ensuring platform reliability and resiliency
Manage, mentor, and support a team of Azure engineers through coaching, technical guidance, and career development
Conduct regular 1:1s, performance reviews, and development planning conversations
Support hiring efforts and contribute to building a high-performing cloud engineering organization
Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous learning, and operational excellence
Lead technical delivery efforts while balancing hands-on engineering responsibilities
Establish Azure platform standards, governance frameworks, and architectural best practices
Partner with Security, IT, and Engineering teams to enforce compliance, access controls, and data protection standards
Lead Azure cost optimization and capacity planning initiatives
Define and maintain tooling, policies, and operational documentation to improve platform management and troubleshooting
Act as a trusted technical advisor, translating business goals into effective cloud strategies and solutions
Partner closely with Software Engineering, DevOps, and Infrastructure teams to support platform reliability and automated deployments
Collaborate with stakeholders across the business to understand platform requirements and deliver scalable solutions
Monitor and continuously improve platform health, operational performance, security posture, and cost efficiency
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
5+ years of hands-on experience designing, implementing, and supporting Azure cloud platforms
Strong expertise across Microsoft Azure services including VMs, AKS, Azure AD, networking, storage, databases, and DNS
Experience leading engineers, projects, or technical initiatives in cloud infrastructure environments
Strong experience with infrastructure automation and infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform, ARM Templates, PowerShell, or Azure CLI
Familiarity with DevOps tools and practices including CI/CD pipelines, Docker, and Kubernetes
Strong understanding of networking, cloud security, governance, compliance, and data protection practices
Experience supporting networking technologies including routers, switches, load balancers, wireless technologies, and SD-WAN
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences
Comfortable balancing strategic leadership with hands-on technical execution
Proven ability to operate effectively in fast-paced, evolving environments

The base salary range for this role is $150,000–$180,000 annually for employees based in Boston, MA. Final compensation may vary and will be determined based on factors such as relevant experience, skills, internal equity, and geographic location. In addition to base pay, this role is eligible for an annual incentive bonus and first-class benefits, which include:
