Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Line Cook/Prep Cook to join our Blufish team. This position is essential for maintaining the high standards of our kitchen operations in a fine dining environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food service, a strong understanding of food safety practices, and the ability to work efficiently under pressure. You will play a key role in menu planning and execution, ensuring that every dish meets our quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and presentation standards.
- Assist in menu planning and development, contributing creative ideas for seasonal dishes.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen workspace, adhering to food safety regulations.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including knives and other cooking tools.
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth service during peak hours.
- Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies as needed.
- Support catering events by preparing large quantities of food while maintaining quality.
- Provide assistance to dietary aides when necessary, ensuring that all dietary restrictions are met.
Experience
- Previous experience in a fine dining or high-volume restaurant setting is preferred.
- Proficiency in knife skills and familiarity with various cooking techniques is essential.
- Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in a kitchen environment.
- Experience in catering or event preparation is a plus.
- Strong teamwork skills with the ability to communicate effectively in a fast-paced environment.
