Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly upon arrival, verify their insurance information, check in, check out & collect copays.
- Facilitate patient intake by gathering medical histories, updating personal information, and explaining clinic procedures clearly.
- Support clinical staff by preparing examination rooms, assisting with basic procedures like medication administration.
- Manage appointment scheduling efficiently, including rescheduling and confirming upcoming visits to optimize clinic flow.
- Maintain organized medical records, ensure accurate ICD coding for diagnoses, and update patient charts promptly.
- Communicate effectively with patients regarding their care instructions, follow-up appointments, and insurance or billing inquiries.
- Manage Medical records request, Rx refills, in coming faxes
- Travel with provider to satellite office for clinic 2 days of the week.
Requirements
- Prior experience in healthcare settings such as gastroenterology, hospital medicine, urgent care, outpatient clinics, or emergency medicine is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy is essential.
- Strong patient service skills with a compassionate approach to diverse populations.
- Familiarity with ICD coding, medication administration procedures, vital signs collection, and intake processes.
- Ability to handle fast-paced situations involving emergency medicine or hospital-based care smoothly and professionally.
- Fluent in Spanish.
Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
