Overview
The Quality Engineer is responsible for assisting the company in achieving its AS9100 derived and internal ATI derived quality standards. The Quality Engineer will also work with various departments to verify designs with technical authority, document procedures, train employees, and develop improvements to the QMS. The Quality Engineer will also assist NCR dispositions and perform various documentation/procedural control functions within the operations and quality department.
This position is salary/exempt and requires a 40-hour workweek.
This is an ITAR role - must be a US citizen or green card holder authorized to work in the US.
Responsibilities
- Participate and validate design reviews for power supplies, magnetics, and transformer assemblies
- Ensure compliance with AS9100 design control requirements
- Review and approve:
- Schematics
- BOMs
- Test procedures
- Qualification plans (DVT/PVT/First Article)
- Lead DFMEA and PFMEA activities
- Support validation of new UPS power supply platforms
- Evaluate transformer design parameters (core selection, winding configuration, insulation systems, thermal margins)
- Review power supply topology (flyback, forward, LLC, etc.) for reliability risks
- Analyze:
- Ripple & noise
- EMI/EMC considerations
- Thermal performance
- Derating compliance
- Oversee qualification testing (thermal, vibration, environmental, burnin)
- Maintain and improve AS9100 QMS compliance
- Ensure compliance with:
- IPC standards (IPC-A-610, J-STD-001)
- MIL-STD requirements (as applicable)
- FAR/DFARS flowdowns
- Support customer audits (DoD, prime contractors)
- Lead internal audits and corrective action processes (8D / RCCA)
- Perform supplier quality evaluations (magnetics, PCBAs, components)
- Review FAIR packages (AS9102)
- Lead root cause investigations on field returns and nonconformances
- Support MRB decisions with technical authority
Skills

Pay: $75,000.00 - $92,000.00 per year
