Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented CNC Machinist to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will operate and program CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machines, including lathes and milling machines, to produce precision metal and plastic components. Your expertise in CNC programming, blueprint reading, and mechanical knowledge will ensure the highest quality standards are met while maintaining efficient production workflows. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with advanced machining technology and contribute to the creation of complex parts used across various industries.
Responsibilities
- Set up, operate, and troubleshoot CNC machines such as lathes, mills, and grinders to produce high-precision parts.
- Develop and modify CNC programs using G-code, M-code, CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) programming, and Fanuc controls to optimize machining processes.
- Interpret mechanical blueprints and technical drawings accurately to determine dimensions, tolerances, and machining sequences.
- Perform precise measurements using calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), and other precision instruments for quality control inspections.
- Conduct CNC quality inspections to verify that parts meet specifications related to GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) standards.
- Maintain proper tooling setup by selecting appropriate tooling and tooling maintenance for efficient machining operations.
- Follow safety protocols diligently while handling power tools, hand tools, welding equipment, and other machinery such as grinders or injection molding presses.
- Collaborate with team members on lean manufacturing initiatives to improve efficiency and reduce waste throughout the production process.
Qualifications
- Proven experience operating CNC machinery including CNC milling machines and CNC lathes with Fanuc controls or similar systems.
- Strong knowledge of CNC programming languages such as G-code and M-code; experience with CAM software is highly preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and manufacturing specifications accurately.
- Mechanical aptitude with a solid understanding of metal machining processes, tooling setups, and measurement techniques using calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines.
- Familiarity with electrical discharge machining (EDM), plastics injection molding processes, welding techniques, and grinding operations is a plus.
- Basic math skills for calculating dimensions, tolerances, feed rates, speeds, and other machining parameters.
- Knowledge of GD&T principles for ensuring part quality during inspection procedures.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while adhering to safety standards.
