FOY Medical is seeking a motivated, compassionate, and detail-oriented Medical Assistant to join our growing team. This role is essential to delivering an exceptional patient experience while supporting our providers in providing high-quality, evidence-based care.
As a Medical Assistant, you will serve as a key member of the clinical team, assisting with patient care, clinical procedures, administrative tasks, and day-to-day clinic operations. Responsibilities
- Welcome and room patients while creating a positive and professional patient experience.
- Obtain and document vital signs, medical histories, current medications, and patient concerns accurately.
- Prepare patients for examinations, procedures, and treatments.
- Assist providers with clinical procedures and patient care as directed.
- Perform specimen collection, processing, and preparation for laboratory testing.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the electronic health record (EHR).
- Support medication administration and ensure proper documentation according to clinic protocols.
- Educate patients regarding treatment plans, medications, procedures, and follow-up instructions.
- Maintain exam rooms, equipment, and supplies to ensure efficient clinic operations.
- Assist with scheduling, patient communications, and administrative duties as needed.
- Adhere to HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
- Respond appropriately to urgent patient situations and support emergency procedures when necessary.
- Collaborate with providers and team members to ensure efficient workflow and outstanding patient care.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Medical Assistant certification preferred but not required based on experience.
- Previous experience in a medical office, urgent care, primary care, specialty clinic, or healthcare setting preferred.
- Blood draw and injection experience a plus
- Strong understanding of medical terminology and clinical workflows.
- Experience using electronic health record (EHR) systems preferred.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask and remain composed in a fast-paced clinical environment.
