The successful candidate for this position is an experienced non-profit leader with a diverse set of operations management skills. The Director of Growth & Expansion will develop, lead, and implement strategies for business development to expand existing outcomes; identify and cultivate new opportunities and relationships; and facilitate growth trajectory in a manner consistent with agency mission; metrics and projected outcomes. Scope of Work
The Strategic Operations Manager is a senior, community-facing leader responsible for translating OVA’s vision into action through program execution, partnership development, grant implementation, and operational oversight. This role leads day-to-day program operations, community engagement, and activation of the Urban Wellness Center—ensuring high-quality delivery, measurable outcomes, and strong stakeholder relationships.
The Strategic Operations Manager supervises staff and volunteers, manages grants and project budgets, and serves as a key liaison between community partners, residents, and OVA leadership.

Key Responsibilities
Strategic Operations & Program Leadership
- Lead implementation of agency-wide programs, events, and initiatives aligned with OVA’s mission and outcomes
- Coordinate daily operations across youth and family programming
- Develop, manage, and track program schedules, workflows, and deliverables
- Oversee activation and day-to-day use of OVA Freedom (Urban Wellness Center campus)
Grant Management & Reporting
- Manage grant implementation, compliance, and reporting requirements
- Track program metrics, outcomes, and deliverables across funding streams
- Prepare internal and external reports demonstrating impact and return on investment
Community Engagement & Partnerships
- Identify, cultivate, and manage strategic partnerships with schools, nonprofits, businesses, and residents
- Serve as primary point of contact for community stakeholders, partners, volunteers, and resident organizations
- Recruit and onboard resident partners utilizing space within OVA Freedom
- Plan and host community tours, engagement events, and networking opportunities
Staff & Volunteer Leadership
- Recruit, supervise, and support program staff and volunteers
- Support training, orientation, and professional development
- Foster a collaborative, accountable, and mission-aligned team culture
Communications & Advocacy
- Represent OVA at community meetings, coalitions, and public forums
- Support creation of outreach materials, campaigns, newsletters, and press content
- Communicate program progress, outcomes, and opportunities to stakeholders
Fiscal & Administrative Oversight
- Monitor program budgets and expenditures with fiscal integrity
- Request, track, and approve program-related purchases
- Maintain accurate program records and documentation
Key Outcome Areas

Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years experience in community engagement, operations, program management, or related fields
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects, partnerships, and deadlines
- Strong leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills
- Experience with youth-serving programs and community-based initiatives
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and digital tools
- Cultural competency and demonstrated commitment to equity and social justice

- Reliable transportation and willingness to travel locally/regionally
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and outdoors as needed

Pay: $44,000.00 - $54,000.00 per year
