Little People’s World LLC is seeking a dependable, nurturing, and attentive Infant Assistant Teacher to join our childcare team.
The Infant Assistant Teacher will work alongside the Lead Teacher to provide safe, responsive, and consistent care for infants. This position requires patience, close attention to detail, active supervision, and the ability to follow each child’s individual feeding, diapering, sleeping, and care schedule.
Position Responsibilities:
- Provide attentive and nurturing care to infants throughout the day
- Actively supervise children and help maintain required child-to-staff ratios at all times
- Follow each infant’s individual feeding, diapering, sleeping, and care schedule
- Prepare and give bottles and meals according to each child’s written instructions
- Accurately document bottles, meals, diaper changes, naps, activities, and other required information
- Change diapers promptly and follow proper sanitation and handwashing procedures
- Provide age-appropriate tummy time, floor play, sensory activities, reading, music, and developmental activities
- Safely hold, lift, carry, feed, comfort, and reposition infants
- Follow safe-sleep practices and all applicable childcare licensing requirements
- Maintain a clean, sanitized, organized, and welcoming classroom
- Assist with cleaning bottles, toys, equipment, cribs, changing areas, and classroom surfaces
- Communicate professionally with the Lead Teacher, families, coworkers, and management
- Report injuries, illnesses, safety concerns, or changes in a child’s behavior promptly
- Follow all Little People’s World policies and North Dakota childcare licensing requirements
- Attend required staff meetings and training
Qualifications:
- Previous experience caring for infants in a childcare center, preschool, or similar setting is preferred
- Must be dependable and maintain consistent attendance and punctuality
- Must be patient, nurturing, attentive, and comfortable caring for multiple infants
- Must follow written instructions and maintain accurate documentation
- Must communicate professionally and work cooperatively as part of a classroom team
- Must pass all required background checks
- Must meet or be willing to complete North Dakota requirements for the position
- Must have or be willing to obtain and maintain CPR and First Aid certification
- Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds and perform the physical responsibilities of an infant classroom
- Must be able to sit on the floor, bend, kneel, stand, and lift or carry infants throughout the day
Schedule:
- Full-time position
- Monday through Friday
- No weekends
- Assigned hours 9:00 AM-5:30 PM
Compensation:
- Starting at $16.00 per hour, based on qualifications and experience
