Pay Range: $17.00 to $21.00 hourly

What does a Patient Enrollment Specialist do?
- Coordinates the patient enrollment process; assists new patients in completing extensive application process; verifies all information provided to confirm eligibility for services and obtains previous medical records.

Ensures that all necessary signatures and authorizations are obtained to accept the new patient.

Maintains registration documentation; initiates the ROI for transfer of medical records to the HIM unit.

Processes aging out and compliance letters to any qualifying patients/clients.

Maintains up to date log regarding patient compliance.

Daily scanning of postings received from Revenue Cycle Manager.

Schedules meetings with patients to facilitate the Vision enrollment process.

Processes all Chiropractic Invoices for payment.

Mailing post cards for Vision eligibility benefits.

Requests new/replacement AIH/ Vision Cards from New York State.

Reviews the Inactive/Deceased Report monthly and updates charts accordingly.

Enrolls new/inactive Oneida Indian Nation Health Services patients.

Attends Utilization Review Committee meetings and any other meetings as designated by the Clinical Director, Health Operations Director or PRC Business Office Manager.

Daily maintenance of monthly reporting numbers for submission at month end.

Provides accurate, up-to-date data and information in a timely manner as requested.

Refers members to Alternate Resource Specialist for health care coverage as applicable.

Adheres to Oneida Indian Nation Health Services Security and Confidentiality policies and procedures in regards to all daily job functions and receives annual update training regarding each area.

Work Experience
To be successful as a Patient Enrollment Specialist, you'll need:

High School Diploma.

Knowledge of spreadsheet formatting/maintenance.

One year experience in Medical Office preferred.

Ability to communicate effectively with clients, co-workers, contractors and third party payers.

Must be able to work effectively with staff and clients in a cross-cultural setting.

Working knowledge of computerized equipment to gather and enter a variety of data.

Adept at using computer information systems to enter and access data.

Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced setting.

Ability to stand/walk for long periods of time and lift up to 11 - 20 pounds.
