5+ years classroom experience required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
-
Communicate the vision & mission of the school and CSA with all stakeholders.
-
Lead collaborative decision-making meetings about professional learning.
-
Ensure that teachers understand and fully implement the curriculum as detailed in curriculum guides.
-
Ensure that instruction is effective and meets the needs of diverse learners.
-
Ensure teachers employ techniques of active pedagogy.
-
Support teachers in setting goals, monitor and support progress toward goals through Individual Professional Development Plan provided by CSA.
-
Ensure equity in instructional delivery.
-
Promote school-wide belief that all students can learn and be high achievers.
-
Support teachers through clear, consistent, and positive feedback.
-
Model using data effectively (data chats, student-led conferences).
-
Analyze, collaborate, and take action to address learning gaps based on data.
-
Collaborate with and support testing coordinator to ensure full compliance of all State, CSA, and Cambridge testing.
-
Assign instructional coaches to best meet the coaching needs of faculty to increase student achievement.

Conduct regular informal walk-through observations through Observe 4 Success and provide feedback to teachers.

Ensures Wednesday meetings follow structure outlined in Principal handbook.

Ensure classroom instruction from Bell to Bell.
-
Works with curriculum team to orient new teaching staff and assists in their development.
-
Evaluates and counsels all staff members regarding their individual and group performance.
-
Assists in the in-service orientation and training of teachers.
-
Facilitates communication for conferences between parents and teachers when necessary or requested by teacher.

Establishes and maintains an effective learning environment in the school.
-
Initiates, designs, and implements programs to meet specific needs of the school.
-
Assists in the management and preparation of the school budget.
-
Submits budgetary requests and works with the Business Manager to monitor expenditure of funds.

Supervises the maintenance of all required building records and reports.
-
Prepares or supervises the preparation of reports, records, lists, and all other paperwork required or appropriate to the school’s administration.

Interprets and enforces district and corporate policies and procedures.
-
Practices efficient time management of self.
-
Ensures office staff is achieving set objectives within allotted time periods.
-
Schedules classes within established guidelines to meet student needs and state requirements.
-
Works with the guidance program to enhance individual student education and development.
-
Maintains high standards of student conduct and enforces appropriate discipline polices and procedures.
-
Attends special events held to recognize student achievement and attends school sponsored activities, functions, and athletic events.
-
Works with Registrar to assume the responsibility for the attendance, conduct, and maintenance of health of students.

Assumes responsibility for own professional growth.
-
Supervises all professional, paraprofessional, administrative, and support personnel assigned to the school.
-
Is an active leader in recruiting, screening, hiring, training, assigning, and evaluating the school’s professional staff.

Participates in the selection and supervision of all school personnel.
-
Approves the master schedule.

Conducts staff meetings to keep members informed of such things as policy changes and new programs to ensure proper functioning of the school.

Assists in the removal of teachers whose work is unsatisfactory in accordance with established procedure.

Supervises the daily use of the school facilities for both academic and nonacademic purposes.

Plans and supervises fire drills and emergency preparedness program.
-
Asserts leadership in times of civil disobedience in school in accordance with established policy.
-
Provides for adequate inventory of school property and for the security and accountability for the property.
-
Supervises and evaluates the school’s extracurricular activities.
-
Participates in principal meetings.
-
Serves as a member of all committees and councils within the school.
-
Responds to written and oral requests for information in a timely manner.
-
Assumes responsibility for all school correspondence and news releases.
-
Establishes and maintains relationships with local community groups and individuals to create meaningful partnerships.
-
Performs such other tasks and assumes such other responsibilities as may be assigned from time-to-time.
Evaluation:
Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the school’s policy on evaluation of professional personnel.
