Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Caregivers to provide exceptional support and assistance to individuals in various care settings, including home care, assisted living, nursing homes, and community programs. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for residents by delivering personalized care with professionalism and empathy. Prior experience in senior care, long-term care, or working with individuals with disabilities is highly valued.
Responsibilities
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature
- Administer medications following care plans and HIPAA regulations
- Provide companionship and emotional support to residents, fostering a caring environment
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with meal consumption when necessary
- Support residents with mobility using equipment such as Hoyer lifts or other assistive devices
- Maintain cleanliness of resident living areas by performing light cleaning duties
- Observe and report any changes in residents’ health status or behavior to healthcare professionals or supervisors
- Follow established care plans and protocols for dementia, Alzheimer's, memory care, or hospice patients
- Assist with transportation to medical appointments or community activities as needed
- Ensure safety procedures are followed at all times to prevent accidents or injuries
Skills
- Experience with patient observation, monitoring vital signs, and administering medication
- Knowledge of dementia, Alzheimer’s, memory care, and hospice care best practices
- Ability to assist with ADLs and provide compassionate patient-centered support
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations related to patient privacy and confidentiality
- CPR and First Aid certification preferred; ongoing training encouraged
- Experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home & community care environments is advantageous
- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with residents, families, and healthcare teams
- Ability to handle heavy lifting safely when assisting residents with mobility or transfers
- Patience, empathy, and excellent observational skills for working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorders
- Ability to follow detailed care plans and adapt to changing resident needs
