Job Summary
Looking for per diem licensed physical therapist assistant for a Fitness Center/PT Clinic hybrid model. Currently looking for Tuesday/Thursday/Friday hours with possibility of increasing to full-time. Join a small, independently owned outpatient clinic operated out of a fully equipped fitness center. 1 hour, one-on-one treatments only. Web PT used for documentation. Outpatient clinic and fitness experience preferred but not required.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with licensed physical therapists to develop and execute personalized care plans tailored to each patient’s needs.
- Assist in administering treatments such as therapeutic exercises, manual therapy techniques including trigger point therapy, and modalities to promote healing and mobility.
- Monitor patient progress, document responses to treatments, and communicate updates effectively to the healthcare team.
- Support discharge planning by preparing patients for transition from inpatient or outpatient settings to home or other care environments.
- Educate patients and their families on physiotherapy techniques, injury prevention, and self-care strategies.
- Maintain accurate medical terminology records and ensure compliance with all healthcare regulations and safety standards.
- Provide compassionate patient care across various populations including geriatrics, pediatrics, orthopedics, and those recovering from acute or chronic conditions.
Requirements
- Valid certification as a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) with current licensure or registration as required by state law.
- Demonstrated experience in outpatient clinic and fitness center equipment preferred but not required.
- Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and physiotherapy practices.
- Proficiency in specialized techniques such as trigger point therapy and other manual therapy methods.
- Familiarity with care plans for diverse populations including geriatrics, pediatrics, orthopedics, and patients requiring discharge planning.
- Excellent communication skills with a focus on patient-centered care and education.
