JOB SUMMARY
Supports Laboratory in maintaining the policies and procedures established in the laboratory Quality Assurance Program. Ensures completion of daily, weekly and monthly program requirements, assisting in the completion of control charts, ordering calibration standards and supporting laboratory activities that affect the Quality System and principally, the Quality Assurance System.
DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES AND AUTHORITIES
1. Responsible for qualitative and quantitative analysis of petroleum products by using various advanced analytical techniques like Gas chromatography- Mass spectrometry, UV fluorescence spectrometry, Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy, etc.
2. Receives, compiles, and verifies the data resulting from the laboratory analyses and ensures accurate and complete preparation of applicable reports as per the quality standard procedures and as per regulatory compliance requirements.
3. Completes and maintains laboratory quality records as needed, ensuring documentation and files are accurate, complete, within acceptable tolerances.
4. Monitors and maintains calibration records, quality control datasheets of each instrument and if deemed necessary responsible for troubleshooting and calibrating instruments to meet quality standards.
5. Audits Laboratory records and laboratory personnel training for the compliance to appropriate standard operating procedure.
6. Investigates customer complaints, documents findings and corrective actions.
7. Responsible for writing technical reports, standard operating procedures and revising existing standard operating procedures.
8. Interpret laboratory results that are outside of the technical ability of the laboratory technicians.
9. Responsible for training the laboratory technicians to meet quality standards of different analysis as described in standard operating procedures.
10. Works with Area Manager to monitor and maintain the Quality Assurance schedule for all laboratories within specified areas of responsibility.
11. Completes and maintains laboratory quality records as needed, ensuring documentation and files are accurate, complete and within acceptable tolerances.
12. Monitors and maintains appropriate control charts based on the guidelines documented in the Laboratory Quality Program SOP. Documents findings and corrective actions and ensures equipment found to be out of calibration is placed out of service until proper actions have been implemented.
13. Assist with obtaining quotations and procurement of laboratory equipment, supplies, consumables and reagents.
14. Reports to the Area Manager, but works closely with Laboratory Technicians and/or Field Technicians as it pertains to specific requirements of the quality system.
15. Responsible for developing, validating analytical methods and providing technical support to lab technicians on testing different petroleum products.
16. Part of the in-depth innovative team to create technical solutions to problems in petroleum products.
17. Provides technical support and creates detailed technical and investigation reports addressing specific petroleum products fuel quality related problems as per the Industrial standards.

Pay: $24.00 - $28.00 per hour
