The Vice President, CARFAX for Police (CFP) leads one of CARFAX's most mission-aligned business lines, the product and partnerships that put CARFAX vehicle history data into the hands of law enforcement and emergency services agencies across North America. With CFP positioned for meaningful growth through expanded Public Safety data partnerships (CAD, RMS, Call Taker/Triage, and adjacent feeds), the GM is accountable for scaling the business while protecting the trust, data quality, and brand standards that distinguish CARFAX in the market.
The primary objective is to translate the Senior Team's strategy into a high-performance operating business. Success means CFP runs with clear decision ownership, consistent execution rhythms, and well-defined roles and handoffs, and that Public Safety data partnerships scale with disciplined acquisition economics.
Core Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning. Convert the Senior Team's vision into an explicit 3-year roadmap and operating plan for CFP. Identify the Public Safety data pipelines that matter most (CAD, RMS, Call Taker/Triage, and others), document assumptions and dependencies, and drive execution through standing reviews.
Data Acquisition and Compliance. Own the end-to-end approach for building and sustaining partnerships with Public Safety agencies, including police departments and Emergency Communication Centers. This covers stakeholder mapping, agreement workflows, compliance posture, and the technical ingestion of sensitive crash and incident data.
Operational Excellence. Design, document, and audit internal workflows. Clarify handoffs, quality checks, and escalation paths so CFP can scale without operational breakdowns or data integrity lapses. Partner closely with BizTech, Legal, and Security on shared infrastructure and standards.
Leadership and Culture. Set expectations, feedback loops, and performance standards for leaders and teams. Coach department heads, hold commitments to deadlines and quality, and reinforce the direct, transparent communication style that defines CARFAX. Contribute as a peer on the CARFAX senior leadership team.
Fiscal Stewardship. Own the CFP P&L. Make tradeoffs explicit, manage vendor and partner relationships, validate cost drivers in Public Safety data integration, and identify levers to protect margins as the business scales.
Candidate Profile:
Proven Scalability. You have led a business through a meaningful growth inflection (for example, $10M to $50M and beyond). You can point to specific systems you designed or implemented in process, tooling, and governance, with examples that go beyond headcount or org size.
Public Safety Domain Expertise. You have worked effectively with public-sector stakeholders. You can describe how you navigated procurement, legal and security reviews, and multi-party approvals to access or operationalize Public Safety data.
Systems and Data Architecture Fluency. You have built scalable operating systems and data flows. You understand how data moves from Public Safety Answering Points (PSAPs) and agencies into internal systems, and how to keep that movement secure, reliable, and auditable.
Operational Resilience. You have inherited evolving environments and introduced operating discipline without disrupting service delivery. You can describe how you simplified scope, removed low-value work, and improved cost visibility.
