Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and energetic Lead Teacher to inspire and guide young children in a dynamic preschool setting. The Lead Teacher will develop engaging curricula, manage classroom activities, and support individualized learning plans. This role offers an exciting opportunity to shape the educational journey of children while promoting foundational skills in literacy, math, and social-emotional growth.
Duties
- Design and implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans aligned with early childhood education standards and curriculum goals
- Foster a positive classroom environment that encourages curiosity, collaboration, and respect among children
- Monitor and assess each child's progress, tailoring activities to support their unique developmental needs
- Collaborate with families to communicate children's progress and coordinate support strategies for children with special needs or developmental disabilities
- Manage classroom behavior through effective behavioral management techniques and behavioral therapy strategies
- Supervise assistant teachers and support staff to ensure high-quality educational delivery
- Maintain accurate records of student development, IEP (Individualized Education Program) goals, attendance, and assessments
Skills
- Proven experience in classroom management within early childhood or preschool settings
- Strong knowledge of childhood development theories and best practices in special education and deaf education
- Expertise in curriculum development for literacy, math, science, arts, and social-emotional learning
- Skilled in working with children with autism, disabilities, or developmental delays using evidence-based interventions such as behavioral therapy
- Excellent communication skills for mentoring staff and engaging with families effectively
- Ability to develop individualized plans like IEPs to support diverse learning needs
- Familiarity with standardized testing procedures and assessment tools for young learners
- Experience with Montessori or other preschool methodologies is a plus
- Passion for early intervention strategies that promote inclusive learning environments
- Knowledge of library services and resources that enhance literacy education
