Position Summary
Haven New England is seeking a Cook. The Cook is responsible for preparing nutritious, appealing meals in accordance with established menus, dietary guidelines, and food safety standards. This role plays an important part in supporting the health and recovery of our clients by ensuring meals are prepared safely, consistently, and on schedule.
The ideal candidate will have prior experience as a Line Cook and a passion for providing excellent food service in a team-oriented environment. Experience in a healthcare, behavioral health, or residential setting is preferred but not required.
Schedule: Thursday - Monday, 11:00am - 7:00pm
Essential Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook meals according to established menus and recipes.
- Ensure food quality, taste, and presentation meet facility standards.
- Assist with food preparation, portioning, and serving meals to clients and staff.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen environment.
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and infection control procedures.
- Properly store, label, and rotate food products in accordance with regulations.
- Monitor inventory levels and notify management of supply needs.
- Assist with receiving and organizing food deliveries.
- Accommodate special dietary requirements and food allergies as directed.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
- Work collaboratively with the culinary team and other departments to support daily operations.
- Maintain compliance with all local, state, and company regulations.
QualificationsRequired
- Previous experience as a Line Cook, Cook, or similar food service position.
- Knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen operations.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Reliable transportation and attendance.
Preferred
- Experience working in a healthcare, behavioral health, residential treatment, hospital, nursing home, or rehabilitation setting.
- Food Handler's Card and/or ServSafe Certification.
- Experience preparing meals for large groups.

Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour
