Inventory Specialist
Department: Full-Service
Reports To: General Manager, Operations Manager
Status: Exempt
Description: The inventory specialist is responsible for managing and maintaining accurate inventory records, tracking stock levels and utilizing inventory data to support decision making. The Inventory Specialist is also responsible for conducting audits, analyzing inventory data, and identifying areas for improvement in inventory control processes. They collaborate with various departments to coordinate inventory-related activities and ensure that inventory levels meet operational needs.
Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
● Conducts audits via PowerLink reports to investigate missing parts, verifies pulled parts for accuracy, prioritizes locating missing items for same-day sales, and reviews part history while checking QC, returns, and distribution areas
● Updates computer records by scanning or locating each part, captures photos of parts upon request, including any existing damage that may be difficult to interpret through codes, and provides clear, detailed part descriptions specifying inclusions and exclusions
● Performs inventory modifications, including updating damage codes, adjusting locations, adding photos of parts, updating pricing, creating new inventory entries, and deleting existing inventory entries as needed
● Unloads shipments of incoming used or aftermarket inventory and inspects parts upon arrival to ensure no excess damage occurred during shipping
● Conducts warehouse adjustments, organizes parts including building new space or shelving, while proposing solutions for inventory and spacing issues, utilizing tools like Excel, Google Sheets, PowerLink, forklifts, and online resources, along with physical equipment such as flatbeds, trucks, and power tools
● Updates powerlink and all parts in inventory when a Hollander update is issued
● Reprices used and new parts by pulling reports from PowerLink, and adjusts prices of returned parts based on factors like new damage, sales velocity, competitor pricing, and quantity on hand
● Other duties as assigned

Language Ability:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Education/Experience:
Two to five years experience in an inventory role. Bachelor's degree preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience or knowledge in the automotive industry.
Certificates and Licenses:
Forklift training and certification available.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands, and talk or hear. While doing this job the employee will be primarily on their feet for long periods of time. The employee is frequently required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. For heavier merchandise lifting devices and/or assistance is required.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, and outdoor weather conditions. This is a smoke free environment for safety reasons.
