This position is responsible for managing the field work for themselves and two other field
appraisers. A person needs to acquire within two (2) years and maintain an appraiser 2
certification. This role assigns work to and manages two other people within the office.
Major Duties:
• Analyzes data to make recommendations for neighborhood adjustments for residential and
agricultural properties.
- Understands and utilizes sales ratio analytics to help locate areas of concern within the
county for residential and agricultural properties.
- Prepares information for and presents BOE hearings.
- Works with Systems Analyst and Office Manager to formulate recommendations to Chief
Appraiser for valuation adjustments.
- Directly assigns field work to field appraisers.
- Cond ucts field work to make sure the county maintains reviews on a third of the county each year.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Possession of a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with completion of specialized
training in the field of work, in addition to basic skills typically associated with a high school
education.
- Experience sufficient to thoroughly understand the work of subordinate positions to be able
to answer questions and resolve problems, usually associated with one to three years’
experience or service.
- Ability to meet necessary requirements of Appraise r I as mandated by the Georgia as mandated by the Georgia Department of Revenue.
Must pass a Background/Reference Check and Pre-Employment Drug Screenings prior to the
start of employment.
