Position Summary
The Golf Course Marshal & Practice Facility Attendant plays a vital role in delivering an exceptional golf experience by maintaining pace of play, assisting members and guests, and ensuring the practice facility operates according to club standards. This position serves as an ambassador of the Club, providing friendly and professional service while preserving the integrity of the golf course and practice areas.
Essential Responsibilities
Golf Course Marshal Duties
- Greet members and guests throughout the golf course with a friendly and professional attitude.
- Monitor and maintain pace of play according to guidelines established by the Golf Professional Staff.
- Address slow play situations promptly and courteously.
- Assist with the setup and execution of tournaments, outings, and special golf events.
- Ensure groups follow proper course procedures and do not play ahead of authorized tee times.
- Communicate effectively with Golf Shop and Outside Services teams regarding course conditions and player flow.
- Provide outstanding hospitality by anticipating member and guest needs while on the course.
Practice Facility Duties
- Coordinate daily with the Golf Shop to obtain tee sheets and practice facility information.
- Monitor the driving range and practice areas to ensure they are reserved for authorized members and guests.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the practice facility, including tee areas, bag stands, tee markers, and ball bins.
- Track practice usage and accurately record applicable member and guest information for billing purposes.
- Communicate with Outside Services when range balls require replenishment.
- Ensure practice facilities remain properly maintained and guest-ready throughout the day.
- Enforce club policies regarding practice facility usage, attire requirements, and parking regulations in a courteous and professional manner.
Qualifications
- Previous golf operations, hospitality, customer service, or club experience preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining a high level of professionalism.
- Ability to spend extended periods outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Passion for delivering exceptional member and guest experiences.
- Knowledge of golf etiquette and pace of play procedures preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, and drive a golf cart for extended periods.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Ability to lift and move golf-related equipment as needed.
