Duties
- Perform thorough cleaning of guest rooms, including making beds, dusting, vacuuming, and sanitizing surfaces to ensure a pristine environment.
- Handle various cleaning tasks such as floor care, chemical cleaning, and janitorial duties using appropriate equipment and techniques.
- Maintain public areas like lobbies, hallways, restrooms, and dining spaces by ensuring they are clean, organized, and inviting.
- Properly handle chemical agents following safety data sheets (SDS) guidelines to ensure safety for yourself and others.
- Assist with heavy lifting tasks related to cleaning supplies or furniture moving while adhering to manual handling safety procedures.
- Follow hotel emergency procedures when necessary to ensure guest and staff safety at all times.
- Keep detailed records of cleaning activities and report any maintenance issues or safety hazards promptly.
Skills
- Proven experience in hotel housekeeping or custodial roles with a strong understanding of sanitation standards.
- Skilled in floor cleaning techniques including carpet vacuuming, floor care, and use of cleaning equipment.
- Knowledge of chemical handling procedures and safe use of cleaning agents to prevent accidents or damage.
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly attitude towards guests and team members.
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely, including heavy lifting and prolonged standing or walking.
- Familiarity with hotel housekeeping management practices and janitorial experience is preferred.
- Strong understanding of hotel emergency procedures and safety protocols to respond effectively in urgent situations.
