- Electrical Engineer / Marine Electrical Technician
[ Summary ]
- A company providing comprehensive support services for maritime shipping, including vessel inspection, maintenance, and specialized supply coordination across the U.S., Central America, and the Caribbean is seeking a bilingual (Japanese/English) Electrical Engineer to join their team in Houston, TX. This role involves performing electrical repairs and maintenance on cargo vessels, as well as handling administrative and client relations tasks when in the office.
[ Essential Duties ]
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair marine electrical systems, wiring, and switchboards on board vessels.
- Perform electrical system maintenance and troubleshooting for high-voltage systems.
- Read, interpret, and analyze mechanical and electrical blueprints/drawings to identify and resolve root causes of equipment failures.
- Conduct field services, requiring frequent long-distance travel and boarding of ships (vessel visits).
- Perform basic welding and mechanical repairs as needed during maintenance tasks.
- Handle client inquiries, communicate with manufacturers, and respond to emails in both English and Japanese while in the office.
- Prepare invoices, project reports, and other necessary administrative documentation.
- Attend manufacturer training sessions and business trips, including traveling to Japan when required.

- Full-time (Subject to travel and vessel schedules)
- On-site (Houston office) when not traveling for vessel inspections and repairs.

- $110K - $160K (Depending on experience)

[ Qualifications ]
- Fluency in both Japanese and English (written and verbal) for client interaction and administrative tasks.
- Strong knowledge and proven experience in electrical troubleshooting, repair, and reading electrical drawings/blueprints.
- Hands-on experience with high-voltage electrical system repairs.
- Deep understanding of electrical switchboards and complex wiring systems.
- Ability and willingness to travel frequently for long-distance business trips, board vessels, and attend manufacturer training in Japan.
- Welding experience/certification is highly preferred (a big plus).
- Prior plant engineer or marine electrical technician experience is preferred.
Pay: $100,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
