Schedule: 8:00 a.m.– 4:00 p.m. (1st Shift, with some flexibility)

Role Overview:
BEPC is seeking an Electrical Engineer to support the design, integration, production support, and sustaining engineering of complex electronic control systems for gas turbine Auxiliary Power Units (APUs). This role focuses on Electronic Control Units (ECUs) and other airborne electronic hardware, contributing across the full product lifecycle—from design updates and integration to production support and compliance activities. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who enjoys hands-on hardware work in a fast-paced, safety-critical aerospace environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Resolve production support cases and release Engineering Change Notices (ECNs).
- Provide technical substantiation for design updates and component changes.
- Support project engineers with production support workload and prioritization.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Component Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Certification, Test Services, Configuration Management, and Data Management.
- Review and maintain Approved Source Lists (ASLs) and build-to-print drawings to ensure supplier compliance.
- Ensure alignment between product-level and system-level/customer requirements.
- Integrate electronic hardware into APU control system architectures.
- Support design updates related to obsolescence, product improvements, and lifecycle changes.
- Act as an engineering interface with suppliers, customers, and internal teams.
- Support schedule planning, supplier milestones, and program timelines.
- Author and maintain technical documentation, coordination memos, and logs.
- Support DO-254 design assurance activities for airborne electronic hardware.
- Assist with nuclear hardening design assurance activities as needed.
- Perform testing, troubleshooting, and sustainment activities for CCAs and PCBs.
Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience with aerospace electronic hardware or other safety-critical systems.
- Hands-on experience with CCAs/PCBs (design, troubleshooting, or sustainment).
- Experience with circuit analysis/modeling tools (e.g., SPICE, MATLAB).
- Experience writing engineering substantiation or change-justification documentation.
- Experience with electronic hardware testing and troubleshooting.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and configuration-controlled documentation.
- Experience supporting production environments and engineering change releases.
- Strong communication skills with suppliers and cross-functional engineering teams.
Desired Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in a related engineering discipline.
- Experience with DO-254 design assurance.
- Experience with ECUs, sensors, actuators, or engine/APU control systems.
- Experience with component obsolescence management.
- Familiarity with DO-160 environmental testing.
- Experience mentoring or guiding other engineers.
- Experience with radiation-tolerant or nuclear-hardened hardware.
