Supply Chain Specialist
Location: Dracut, MA
Pay Rate: $32–$33/hour
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM–4:00 PM
Job Type: Temp-to-Perm
About the Role
We are seeking a Supply Chain Specialist to support purchasing, materials, and production planning for a manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of experience in manufacturing buying and planning and be comfortable working with vendors, purchasing teams, production, engineering, and sales.

Key Responsibilities
Materials
- Coordinate daily cycle count activities with the materials team.
Purchasing
- Process purchase order acknowledgments and confirmations.
- Communicate and coordinate with vendors.
- Send weekly open-order reports to vendors and confirm upcoming delivery dates.
- Work with Receiving to identify and resolve problem orders.
- Expedite parts shortages and past-due orders.
- Maintain expedite logs and work with vendors to resolve shortage issues.
- Support effective sourcing and vendor relationships.
Production Planning
- Plan work orders for the production floor using ERP/MRP systems and customer forecasts.
- Review production reports and adjust schedules based on labor constraints.
- Work with Inside Sales, Engineering, and Production to maintain agreed-upon production schedules.
- Review customer forecasts to plan material and production capacity.
- Run shortage reports as needed.
- Process customer expedite requests and maintain tracking logs.
- Work with Purchasing and Production to determine the best delivery dates based on available parts and labor.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma required; Associate’s Degree preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in manufacturing buying and planning.
- Experience working in a manufacturing planning and purchasing department is strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of contract manufacturing processes.
- Experience with MRP/ERP systems and Microsoft Office.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.
- Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to remain professional and composed under pressure.
- Dependable, punctual, and team-oriented.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, reach, and use hands for typing and handling materials.
- Occasionally lift or move items weighing up to 20 lbs.
- Ability to perform tasks requiring close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
Work Environment
- Primarily an office environment.
