Overview
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Geotechnical Driller to join our team. This position involves operating and maintaining drilling equipment, collecting soil and rock samples, and supporting site investigations for construction and development projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, mechanical aptitude, and a commitment to safety and quality in the field.
Duties/Responsibilities :
- Mobilize (drive) drill rig(s) and/or support vehicle(s) in a safe and professional manner (CDL not required).
- Conduct geotechnical drilling operations including performing standard penetration tests (SPT) borings on various rigs including:
- Simco 2800 on a F-600 chassis
- Buck Rogers BR-2540 mini track system
- Oversee support staff while on job sites.
- Understand utility locate markings and locating of geotechnical boring locations.
- Assist with clearing operations for geotechnical investigations.
- Perform regular maintenance and repair of drilling equipment, drill rig(s), and support vehicle(s).
- Ensure safety of the work site and team members during drilling operations.
Required Skills / Abilities:
- Thorough understanding of geotechnical drilling and split spoon testing.

Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work outdoors in all climates.
- Ability to lift and carry 90 pounds multiple times per day.
- Ability to withstand prolonged periods standing and performing manual labor outside.
- Must be able to access and navigate job sites and construction areas.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalency.
- Experience in maintaining gasoline and diesel engines.
- Experience with welding (MIG/ARC) and minor fabrication a plus.
- Mud rotary drilling experience.
- Soil classification experience a plus.

Pay: $22.00 - $27.00 per hour
