GLO Resources is currently hiring an experienced Lawn Equipment Mechanic to work in New Roads, LA. The pay rate is between $20-$30 an hour depending on experience. The schedule is Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm with occasional overtime depending on project deadlines. This is an excellent opportunity to work with a reputable company.
Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Small Engine Mechanic to join our team. This is a shop-based position focused on diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining customer-owned outdoor power equipment. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience working on small engines, takes pride in producing quality repairs, and can work independently while maintaining an organized workspace.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnoses, troubleshoot, repair, and service small engines and outdoor power equipment brought into the shop.
- Perform routine maintenance, tune-ups, and preventative service.
Repair and maintain equipment including:
- Lawn mowers
- String trimmers
- Chainsaws
- Leaf blowers
- Portable generators
Other gas-powered outdoor power equipment
- Identify mechanical issues and recommend appropriate repairs.
- Test equipment after repairs to ensure safe and proper operation.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Complete repairs efficiently while maintaining high-quality workmanship.
- May be assigned other duties, as necessary.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience repairing and servicing small engines required.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to diagnose and troubleshoot engine and equipment issues.
- Experience working on lawn and outdoor power equipment.
- Dependable, self-motivated, and able to work with minimal supervision.
- Ability to stay organized and manage multiple repair jobs.
- Team-oriented with a strong work ethic and attention to detail.
- Must be able to pass a drug screening and background check
Physical Requirements:
This position involves regular physical activity, including:
- Standing for prolonged periods.
- Frequent bending, kneeling, and crouching.
- Pushing and pulling heavy objects.
- Lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds.
