The Waterjet Operator role at AirSupply Tools is a hands-on manufacturing position responsible for operating and maintaining waterjet and laser cutting equipment while supporting production through CAD file creation, machine setup, inspection, and quality control. This position plays a critical role in ensuring products are produced accurately, efficiently, and in accordance with customer and engineering specifications.
The Waterjet Operator works closely with Engineering, Production, and Quality teams to support manufacturing objectives, assist with product development through CAD modifications, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. This role requires a strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to operate multiple pieces of equipment in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Additional responsibilities may periodically include assisting with process improvements and supporting manufacturing projects as business needs require.
Key Accountabilities
- Machine Operation: Set up, operate, and monitor waterjet and laser cutting equipment to produce high-quality product according to engineering drawings and production schedules. Perform routine machine adjustments to maintain optimal performance and efficiency.
- CAD and Programming Support: Create and modify DXF files using AutoCAD software to support production requirements. Assist Engineering with CAD related tasks, drawing revisions, test fits, and programming as needed.
- Production Support: Assist across multiple manufacturing operations as required, including machine setup, material preparation, secondary operations, and general production support to meet customer delivery commitments.
- Quality Assurance: Perform first-article, in-process, and final inspections. Verify part dimensions and ensure all products meet engineering specifications, customer requirements and quality standards.
- Test Fits and Process Verification: Complete test fits and verify component compatibility prior to production release. Identify discrepancies and collaborate with Engineering and Production to resolve issues.
- Equipment Setup and Maintenance: Perform machine setup, tooling changes, routine preventative maintenance, and basic troubleshooting to minimize downtime and maximize production efficiency. Maintain clean and organized work areas in accordance with company safety standards.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of 3 years of machine shop or manufacturing experience required.
- 2–3 years of CAD experience with the ability to create and modify DXF files required.
- Experience operating waterjet, laser cutting, CNC, or similar manufacturing equipment preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.

Pay: $25.00 - $27.00 per hour
