Position Summary:
The Quality Engineer I is responsible for automation and evaluation of existing and new technologies. Primary goal is the mitigation of risk working in concert with design and test engineering teams. This position will be tasked with designing and developing programs to meet standard SOPs for Company product line in conjunction with local, regional, and international regulatory concerns.
Responsibilities
· Create documentation as needed for the company product lines that may need to meet safety documentation appropriate to a given local, regional, or international standard
· Create user documentation delighted to identify potential operational or functionality troubleshooting steps; to include best practice solution suggestions
· Test organization products to determine potential causes relating to quality issues
· Advise teams of potential solutions or management of potential solutions to quality concerns
· Write, review, and train team members on manufacturing assembly instructions
· Rework, review, and adjust training as necessary for returned field items
· Review configuration control records for all assemblies built to customer specifications and amend as necessary
· Write company or customer specific process specifications as required to better support production and test teams
· Maintain and update SDS documentation as deemed appropriate
· Examine equipment, processes and assembly operations to identify improvement in quality and time standards
· Work collaboratively with appropriate departments to identify efficiencies, analyze work load, plan work flow, and assess space requirements or equipment layout as deemed appropriate
· Own responsibility for in-house and external calibration activities
· Interact with appropriate customer representatives to support troubleshooting or customer service requests as deemed appropriate
Education/Work Experience:
· Associates or Bachelors degree in a technical field; or equivalent experience in a comparable Quality Department role
Physical Demands:
While performing duties, the employee may be required to sit for periods of time at a computer or desk, work with their hands to assemble/disassemble product; stand, walk, reach, climb or balance, stoop, kneel and crouch to ensure full functionality of products. The employee must frequently lift or move up to 50 pounds.
Capabilities/Skills:
· Able to communicate effectively through written and verbal methods
· Computer skills should include extensive knowledge in Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams, CRM software, and shipping company platforms
· Ability to be a leader focused on positive team growth across all departments who collaborate with the Quality team, and be a positive support for customer interactions as deemed appropriate
· Ability to maintain and foster a safe, organized, work area across multiple workstations
· Able to adapt to a fast-paced environment
· Attention to detail and ability to correct as needed
· Ability to analyze information in a real time environment while seeking resolution, solving problems, and proactively assessing critical needs
· Ability to prioritize workflow to effectively meet deadlines
· Able to lift heavy loads up to 50 pounds on occasion
· Ability to learn, and stay up to date, with best practices in manufacturing and electronics
· Ability to learn product line
· Ability to cross train and fill in across related roles or departments as deemed appropriate by leadership
· Ability to take verbal and/or written instruction from supervisors
· Ability to report to work on time and consistently
