JOB SUMMARY
Crystal seeks a Seasonal Part-time Freshman Girls Volleyball Head Coach. The Girls Volleyball Head Coach is responsible for overseeing athletic training and strength and conditioning workouts, and for providing technical support and training to athletes, as appropriate to the sport. Coaches have responsibilities not only to the students under their supervision, but also to the parents, the school, and the community.

Exhibits and mentors the scholar-athletes in good sportsmanship and fair play.

Attends mandatory coaches’ meetings.

Monitors the conduct of their scholar-athletes during practices and games.

Provides a safe environment for the scholar-athletes by checking the playing area and equipment before each practice and game/competition.

Prevents injuries through thoughtful, balanced workouts.

Instructs scholar-athletes in the basic rules and fundamentals of the sport.

Assists in implementing training programs to develop athletes in the sport.

Implements athlete registration and evaluations and maintains the evaluation database.

Travel Required

Light travel between the MS and US campuses.

Travel to and from competitions in the Bay Area.

Required education and experience
-
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university
-
Three years of minimum related experience is preferred
-
Valid CPR/AED/First Aid Certification (American Red Cross/American Heart Association)

Volleyball playing and coaching experience (3+ years preferred)

General knowledge of best practices in interscholastic athletics and volleyball, specifically
Work Environment and Physical Demands

Able to work in a dynamic environment, dealing with a wide variety of challenges, deadlines, and a varied and diverse array of contacts

Works in outside weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold

Tasks involve the ability to exert heavy physical effort, including climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling moderately heavy objects and materials weighing 20-50 pounds

Salary and Benefits
This is a Seasonal part-time position, working approximately 15 hours per week. It is not eligible for benefits. This position is paid hourly at $25-$45 per hour. Season key dates: start on August 7, 2026, with potential postseason on October 28, 2026, and beyond.
The recruitment period will remain open until sufficient resumes have been received and may close at any time a sufficient pool of highly qualified candidates has been established.
