Motas is a secure transport company serving licensed cannabis businesses throughout Michigan. Our Dispatch team plays a central role in supporting our drivers, and ensuring daily routes are completed safely, professionally, and on time.
The Dispatcher is responsible for monitoring active routes, communicating with drivers and customers, and helping resolve on-the-road issues as they arise. This position requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, solid judgment, and the ability to stay calm while managing several moving parts in a timely manner.
The right candidate is dependable, organized, thrives under pressure, and is able to troubleshoot problems quickly while keeping drivers, customers, and internal teams informed.

Monday & Friday: 11:00 AM - close
Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday: 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM
Close is generally around 7:00 PM, but may vary depending on daily route volume and operational needs.

Responsibilities
- Monitor route progress and drivers using GPS, internal systems, and direct driver communication.
- Conduct regular route status check-ins and update Dispatch, Logistics, and Management as necessary regarding delays, route progress, and critical service issues.
- Provide frontline support to drivers for pickup, delivery, vehicle, equipment, customer, or route-related issues.
- Troubleshoot on-the-road issues and work with logistics to help coordinate practical solutions.
- Escalate urgent, complex, or sensitive issues to the appropriate manager or department.
- Communicate with customers regarding ETAs, delays, and other route-related updates.
- Promptly investigate and communicate answers to order related questions as necessary.
- Send dispatch notifications, route updates, and customer updates as needed.
- Create GPS routes using company routing/GPS systems.
- Verify, complete, and update internal dispatch records throughout the day.
- Identify and communicate driver-related performance, attendance, communication, or HR concerns to Dispatch management.
- Coordinate with Logistics, Warehouse, Cash Room, HR, and Upper Management as needed to support daily operations.
- Cover other Dispatch shifts and tasks as needed.
- Occasionally cover driver routes or otherwise assist with transportation duties as needed.
- Assist with other operational tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize issues in real time, under pressure.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to stay calm and remain organized in sensory-overloaded situations.
- Comfortable using GPS systems, spreadsheets, phones, and other miscellaneous internal software.
- History of dependable attendance and punctuality.
- Customer service and/or dispatch experience preferred.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record preferred, especially as occasionally covering routes may be required.
Pay: From $17.00 per hour
