Position Summary:
The Materials and Resource Planner will provide direct and assistance to work group in order to meet assigned objectives. In this role, you will work within defined parameters to make decisions, apply concepts to issues of moderate complexity, and resolve issues through immediate action or short-term planning.
Primary Duties:
- Coordinate and execute scheduling activities for assigned part numbers using advanced planning systems
- Assess and identify inventory needs as relates to Materials/Resource Planning for future projected Manufacturing forecast.
- Coordinate input on material shortages
- Identify and react to material plans that do not meet customer requirements.
- Monitor implementation of corrective action plans
- Assist in effective scheduling and implementation of all programs based on the master schedule, cycle time, production capacity, hardware/tooling availability and status of schedules.
- Work with Quality Department to analyze any quality concerns throughout the Production process, and implement necessary changes in order to improve production efficiency, quality and processing.
- Monitor supply and demand misalignment using advanced planning system, and collaborate with manufacturing sources to implement corrective action plans.
- Coordinate the efforts of cross-functional groups and across shifts to resolve bottlenecks, parts shortages, machine maintenance, manpower issues and production capacity.
- Ensure timely shipments to all customers and prepare and implement work orders and plans as required.
- Interface with demand management, production scheduling, fulfillment team, configuration control, supply sources, customer service reps and other voestalpine organizations as required.
- Developing and calculate of logistical parameters in the SAP system, this includes calculating safety stocks, defining lead-times between process steps and setting-up KPI to monitor the supply chain performance
- Project team member of continuous improvement projects in Logistic areas (optimizing warehouse lay-outs, improving communication models to suppliers and customers, SAP improvements, optimizing incoming goods inspection, truck utilization, etc.)
- As a MRP specialist you are responsible for ordering and planning all raw materials, components and outsourced products for the plant operations. You will operate the SAP ERP system in order to perform this planning. As a MRP specialist you will be challenged in communicating with suppliers all over the world. Current main suppliers are located in the U.S. and Europe.
- Ensures safety, environmental protection and cleanliness in designated areas.
- Maintain accurate trace ability for all records created during manufacturing of products and production.
- Check incoming materials into inventory and reconcile differences against purchase orders
- Coordinate and implement regular inventory counts.
- Analyze and measure the current production status and identify problem areas that inhibit full schedule realization.
- Analyze data to determine opportunities to decrease inventory, improve customer service levels and reduce total cost.
- Accountable for staff allocation in Operations Management.
- Responsible for a smooth production process.

Education and/or Experience –Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited College or University (or High School Diploma/GED with a minimum 4 years of experience in a materials planning or project management position)

- Prior experience in negotiations is preferred

Computer Skills – To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of manufacturing software, SAP preferred.

Pay: $60,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
