Job Summary
The Quality Control Supervisor is responsible for overseeing quality control activities within the coating plant to ensure all production, inspection, and testing activities are completed in accordance with approved quality standards, procedures, and customer specifications.
This role supports operational excellence by maintaining process compliance, ensuring product quality, supporting continuous improvement initiatives, and leading inspection personnel in a safe and efficient manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Operations & Compliance
- Maintain and support the quality management system within the coating plant
- Ensure production, inspection, and testing activities are performed in accordance with approved QAPs, process charts, and work instructions
- Verify process control parameters and ensure use of calibrated instruments
- Ensure proper classification and handling of non-conforming material, including rework and reject processes
- Support compliance with API, ISO, ASME, ASTM, and customer specifications
Inspection & Reporting
- Review inspection reports, test results, and quality documentation
- Ensure accurate data entry and verification within SAP and other reporting systems
- Prepare and distribute shift reports and quality-related documentation
- Generate purchase requisitions, material reservations, and issue tickets as needed
Team Leadership & Coordination
- Supervise and support station inspectors and quality personnel
- Prepare employee shift schedules and coordinate daily work assignments
- Provide coaching, guidance, and performance feedback to team members
- Promote teamwork, accountability, and a quality-focused culture across the plant
Safety & Housekeeping
- Ensure compliance with all plant safety, EHS, and housekeeping standards
- Promote safe work practices and proper use of equipment and materials
- Maintain organized and efficient work areas within the coating quality department
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or related technical field preferred
- 2–4 years of experience in quality control, inspection, or manufacturing environments within pipe, steel, heavy industrial, or coating operations preferred
- Supervisory or team leadership experience is a plus
Skills & Competencies
- Ability to read and interpret API, ISO, ASME, ASTM, and customer specifications
- Strong understanding of quality systems, inspection methods, and process controls
- Proficiency in SAP, Microsoft Excel, and other reporting systems
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Effective communication and leadership abilities
- Ability to work in a fast-paced industrial environment while maintaining attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications
- ISO 9001 Internal or Lead Auditor certification
- NACE certification or coating inspection experience
- Experience with statistical process control (SPC) tools and quality analytics
Work Environment
This role is based onsite at the Little Rock manufacturing facility and involves working in an industrial manufacturing environment with exposure to moving mechanical equipment, noise, airborne particles, and production operations. Appropriate PPE and safety training will be provided.

Pay: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
