We are seeking a highly skilled Automotive Restoration Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be instrumental in breathing new life into classic vehicles, ensuring each restoration meets the highest standards of quality and authenticity. Your expertise in metalworking, body alignment, and finishing techniques will be essential to our success.
Responsibilities
- Execute welding, fitting, and gapping of body panels to achieve precise alignment and structural integrity.
- Employ advanced metalwork techniques to shape panels, minimizing the need for fillers and maintaining original contours.
- Master the art of metal finishing and meticulously assemble automobile bodies, ensuring flawless surfaces.
- Apply blocking, sanding, masking, and primer applications with precision to prepare surfaces for painting.
- Perform wet sanding and buffing to achieve a mirror-like finish on painted surfaces.
- Expertly install and align doors, fenders, hoods, fascias, bumpers, windows, and trim, maintaining a tolerance of +/- 0.5mm.
- Fine-tune windows and doors to eliminate wind noise and ensure a watertight seal.
- Install and assemble powertrain components, including engines, transmissions, and exhaust systems, ensuring optimal performance.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Extensive professional experience in collision repair, custom car builds, or restoration projects.
- Successful completion of a technical program in auto body repair or equivalent experience in automotive body, restoration, and/or mechanical work.
- Proficiency in welding, metal shaping, and body alignment techniques.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications and willingness to learn to use an iPad.
- ASE Automobile and Light Truck Certification Tests
- Strong mechanical assembly skills.
