Responsibilities
- Provide chairside assistance during pediatric dental procedures
- Help children feel comfortable and confident during treatment
- Take and expose dental radiographs in accordance with Virginia regulations
- Prepare treatment rooms and instruments for patient care
- Sterilize instruments and maintain infection control standards
- Chart treatment and maintain accurate patient records
- Educate patients and parents on oral health and treatment recommendations
- Support efficient patient flow throughout the day
Qualifications Required:
- Minimum 1 year of dental assisting experience
- Current CPR/BLS certification
- Virginia-compliant Dental Radiography Certification
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask in a busy clinical environment
- Professional, dependable, and team-oriented attitude
Preferred:
- Pediatric dental assisting experience
- Completion of a CODA-accredited Dental Assisting Program
- Experience with digital radiography and electronic dental records
