About the Role
We’re looking for an enthusiastic, caring, and creative individual to join our team as a School Age / Seasonal Camp Teacher! In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to create fun, engaging, and educational experiences for children in our after-school programs and Seasonal camps. You’ll guide them through learning activities, support their emotional development, and help ensure they’re safe, happy, and engaged while at our center.
As a teacher, you’ll practice and model Conscious Discipline, a positive and proactive approach to teaching social and emotional skills. You’ll also help oversee the care and well-being of the children, create a welcoming environment, and work closely with families and fellow team members.
What You’ll Be Doing
Curriculum & Activities:
- Plan and implement engaging daily activities and lesson plans for after-school and Seasonal camp programs, following Ivy Kids standards.
- Use positive guidance techniques to support children’s development and behavior, promoting social skills, problem-solving, and emotional growth.
- Create a classroom environment that is not only educational but also fun and welcoming, with age-appropriate activities that encourage learning and creativity.
- Make sure parents have clear communication about the daily activities with posted schedules and classroom updates.
Children’s Care & Safety:
- Ensure that children are always safe, cared for, and well-supervised, and maintain a clean, safe, and healthy environment in the classroom and play areas.
- Be mindful of children's allergies and health needs, and complete incident reports as needed.
- Participate in emergency procedures and provide first aid or CPR when necessary to keep children safe.
Teamwork & Communication:
- Collaborate with assistant teachers and communicate regularly with the Director about any important updates regarding children or the program.
- Maintain positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues.
- Attend team meetings, training, and events to continuously improve your skills and knowledge.
- Pitch in with other tasks as needed, like answering the phones, assisting in the classroom, or helping with special events or projects.
General Responsibilities:
- Ensure that classroom materials and equipment are well-maintained, and that the environment is tidy and organized.
- Follow all Ivy Kids policies and procedures, including dress code and cleanliness standards.
- Be reliable and show up to work on time.
What We’re Looking For

- Physical stamina to interact with children, including lifting up to 50 pounds as needed.
- Strong communication skills with both children and adults.

Additional Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must meet state licensing requirements for education and experience.
- Ability to drive a 14-passenger bus to transport children to and from school and on field trips (must have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record).
