QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Qualifications:
· Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in education, educational administration or a related field.
· Ten years of full-time, paid, educational experience, at least five of which have been in a school-based administrative or central office capacity.
· In-depth knowledge of instruction, standards-based education, and leadership.
Performance Qualifications:
· Experience as a turnaround principal and/or principal manager of persistently low-performing schools with documented evidence of significant improvement in student outcomes.
· Training, experience, or exposure to school leadership and/or principal manager development through New Leaders, Relay, TNTP, Achievement Network, or similar organizations.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Demonstrated Knowledge of:
· The principles of educational administration.
· Research-based school improvement designs and current issues facing urban public education.
· Government statues and regulations relating to instruction and curriculum.
· State and national trends that impact development and improvements in curriculum design.
· Standards and current curriculum frameworks.
· Curriculum development and implementation, as well as authentic assessment practices.
· Implementing differentiated instructional methods and techniques.
· Leading and implementing broad-based initiatives and programs.
Demonstrated ability to:
· Provide leadership in organizational or school change.
· Improve student outcomes.
· Coordinate, facilitate and implement diversified interdisciplinary programs.
· Coordinate and oversee the work of staff and attain effective results.
· Formulate and implement professional development for all learners.
· Effectively represent the District in a professional manner and serve in a liaison capacity.
· Evaluate data and prepare cogent recommendations.
· Use a personal computer to develop presentations, documents, spreadsheets, and analyses.
· Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
· Establish and maintain effective working relationships.
