Duties
- Assist the Store Manager in supervising daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures
- Lead and motivate the retail sales team to achieve sales targets through effective coaching and training
- Oversee inventory management, stock replenishment, merchandising, and pricing strategies to maximize sales potential
- Manage cash handling procedures, POS systems, and payroll processes with accuracy and integrity
- Conduct employee orientation, interviewing, recruiting, and onboarding to build a strong, capable team
- Ensure excellent customer service by addressing inquiries promptly and maintaining professional phone etiquette
- Supervise shift management, organize staffing schedules, and monitor operational standards to ensure smooth store functions
- Implement merchandising plans and manage stock levels to optimize product presentation and inventory control
- Support budgeting efforts, perform basic bookkeeping tasks, and assist with operational management initiatives
- Foster a positive work environment through effective communication skills, leadership, and team management
Experience
- Proven experience in retail management or assistant manager roles within the retail industry with a focus on sales team supervision
- Demonstrated skills in negotiation, employee training & development, and managerial communication
- Experience with inventory management systems (POS systems preferred), purchasing, and stock control processes
- Strong background in retail math including pricing strategies, budgeting, cash handling, and basic bookkeeping
- Familiarity with grocery or wireless sales environments is advantageous but not mandatory
- Bilingual or multilingual abilities are a plus for engaging diverse customer bases
- Prior experience in supervising teams within retail stores that emphasize customer service excellence is highly valued
