The Wesley House Community Center is a Christian ministry established in 1907 to identify and build on the strengths of individuals and families to create a stronger community. We currently provide academic, emotional, and spiritual support to 100+ students. Our pre-k program has an academic focus and helps students become enthusiastic learners. We are located less than a mile from Downtown Knoxville and the University of Tennessee.
Job Description: The Program Logistics Coordinator plays a vital role in supporting the quality, organization, and successful implementation of Wesley House’s K–8 Youth Development Program. This role requires an organized, dependable, and collaborative individual who can coordinate curriculum, support lesson-plan implementation, train program staff, maintain LEAPS reporting and compliance, track tutoring attendance, manage program materials, and assist with student transportation. The coordinator will work closely with the Director of Youth Services, Chief Program Officer, program staff, schools, and community partners to ensure programming is engaging, developmentally appropriate, well organized, and aligned with Wesley House and Knox County Schools’ academic, social-emotional, enrichment, and youth-development goals. Some evenings, special events, field trips, and occasional weekends may be required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate K–8 curriculum and enrichment activities to ensure programming is engaging, developmentally appropriate, and aligned with Wesley House and Knox County Schools’ academic, social-emotional, and youth-development goals.
- Review lesson plans, monitor implementation, and conduct program observations to ensure activities are consistently delivered and meet program-quality expectations.
- Train, coach, and support program staff in lesson planning, curriculum implementation, activity preparation, classroom management, documentation, and program expectations.
- Maintain and organize lesson-plan materials, curriculum supplies, educational resources, and activity equipment to ensure staff have the resources needed to implement programming successfully.
- Support LEAPS reporting, data collection, documentation, and compliance by maintaining accurate and timely program records, attendance information, lesson plans, assessments, and required reports.
- Track tutoring participation and attendance and coordinate with tutors and program staff to maintain accurate records and identify students who may need additional academic support.
- Assist with transporting Wesley House participants from designated schools and on field trips while following all organizational safety procedures and Tennessee Department of Human Services requirements.
- Participate in staff meetings, program planning, trainings, and professional-development opportunities.
- Maintain positive and professional relationships with students, families, staff, schools, tutors, and community partners.
- Ensure that daily actions and behavior align with the mission, vision, and cultural values of Wesley House Community Center.
- Follow all Wesley House policies regarding child safety, supervision, confidentiality, mandated reporting, transportation, and professional conduct.
- Complete all required Tennessee Department of Human Services trainings and other duties as assigned
Experience/Skills Needed:
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; an associate’s or bachelor’s degree in education, youth development, social services, nonprofit management, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience working with school-aged children in an educational, after-school, childcare, camp, or community-based setting is preferred.
- Experience with curriculum development, lesson planning, staff training, youth programming, program coordination, or educational enrichment is preferred.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational, leadership, problem-solving, multitasking, and time-management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple responsibilities, deadlines, schedules, records, lesson plans, and program materials.
- Ability to train, coach, and provide constructive feedback and support to program staff.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate and confidential records.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and related software.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Ability to manage program resources and demonstrate fiscal responsibility regarding programmatic budgets.
- Valid Tennessee driver’s license
- Ability to meet all Wesley House and Tennessee Department of Human Services requirements
- Ability to pass required background checks, fingerprinting, drug screening, and other applicable employment requirements.

Position Type: Temporary, Part-Time
Employment Period: September 2026–May 2027
Schedule: Approximately 25 hours per week
Compensation: $20.00/hour
