Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Cherry Picker Driver to join our warehouse operations team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating cherry pickers and other material handling equipment to efficiently pick, load, and unload products within a busy warehouse environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong knowledge of warehouse management systems, safety protocols, and equipment maintenance, ensuring smooth distribution processes. Duties
- Operate cherry pickers, forklifts, reach trucks, and other material handling equipment in accordance with OSHA and safety standards.
- Select and retrieve inventory items accurately using barcode scanning and order picking techniques.
- Load and unload shipments efficiently while adhering to heavy lifting and manual handling safety procedures.
- Maintain precise inventory records through warehouse management systems and barcode scanning tools.
- Assist with shipping and receiving processes, including verifying shipments, preparing orders, and managing documentation.
- Perform routine equipment inspections and basic repairs to ensure optimal operation of forklifts, clamp trucks, pallet jacks, Hi-Lo lifts, and other machinery.
- Support warehouse distribution activities by organizing storage areas and ensuring materials are stored safely and systematically.
- Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to optimize workflow, improve safety standards in production, and enhance overall warehouse operations.
- Follow proper manual handling techniques for heavy or bulky items to prevent injuries.
- Participate in regular safety training sessions to uphold OSHA standards and warehouse safety protocols.
Skills
- Proven experience operating reach trucks, forklifts (including lift trucks), pallet jacks, clamp trucks, Hi-Lo lifts, and other material handling equipment.
- Strong understanding of warehouse management systems (WMS) and barcode scanning for logistics.
- Knowledge of shipping & receiving procedures, inventory management, and warehouse distribution processes.
- Familiarity with OSHA regulations and forklift safety protocols.
- Ability to perform basic math calculations related to weights, measurements, and inventory counts.
- Experience with equipment repair or troubleshooting is a plus.
- Excellent manual handling skills with an emphasis on safety standards in production environments.
- Effective communication skills for coordinating with team members and supervisors.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while adhering to manual handling guidelines.
- Basic understanding of warehouse operations including order picking, load & unload procedures, and materials handling.
