Cruise Flight Academy – Dalton, GA
Location: Dalton Municipal Airport
Build and Lead Our Growing Aircraft Maintenance Operation
Cruise Flight Academy is looking for an experienced A&P or IA Aircraft Mechanic who wants more than just a mechanic job.
We are looking for a highly motivated, trustworthy, safety-minded and customer-oriented professional who wants to take a leadership role in developing and managing an aircraft maintenance shop at Dalton Municipal Airport.
Currently, our maintenance operation primarily supports our flight-school aircraft. Our goal is to grow the operation into a full-service general aviation maintenance shop serving both flight schools and outside aircraft owners and operators.
This position offers the opportunity to be a key part of that growth.
The Opportunity
You will initially be responsible for maintaining our flight-school fleet while helping us develop the systems, processes and customer relationships necessary to expand the maintenance operation.
As the shop grows, you will have the opportunity to take on increasing responsibility for:
- Leading and managing the aircraft maintenance operation
- Managing and developing maintenance personnel
- Planning and scheduling aircraft maintenance
- Performing inspections, repairs and preventative maintenance
- Ensuring aircraft are maintained in accordance with FAA regulations and applicable maintenance procedures
- Maintaining accurate maintenance records and documentation
- Developing relationships with aircraft owners and other customers
- Building a reputation for excellent customer service and quality workmanship
- Helping establish and improve shop procedures, policies and standards
- Identifying opportunities to expand the maintenance business
- Recruiting and training additional maintenance personnel as the operation grows
- Managing the day-to-day operation of the maintenance shop
- Helping establish the shop as a trusted general aviation maintenance provider in the North Georgia area
Who We Are Looking For
We are looking for someone who wants to build something, not simply show up and turn wrenches.
The ideal candidate is:
- A&P mechanic with at least 3 years of professional experience, OR an A&P/IA
- Experienced in general aviation aircraft maintenance
- Highly motivated and ambitious
- A natural leader who can motivate and manage people
- Safety-minded and committed to high maintenance standards
- Trustworthy, dependable and professional
- Customer-oriented with strong communication skills
- Organized and capable of managing multiple priorities
- Comfortable taking responsibility and making decisions
- Interested in growing with a company and taking on increasing responsibility
- Interested in developing both technical and management skills
An IA certificate is highly desirable, but we are also interested in experienced A&P mechanics who have the ambition and leadership ability to grow into a larger management role.
What We Offer
This is an opportunity to become a key member of a growing aviation company.
We offer:
- Competitive salary with opportunities for increases as the company and your responsibilities grow
- Profit-sharing opportunity
- Free career development and professional training
- Support for obtaining additional certifications and qualifications
- Opportunities to advance into management and leadership positions
- The opportunity to help build and lead a growing aircraft maintenance business
- A professional aviation environment
- The opportunity to have a direct impact on the growth and success of the company
We believe in investing in our people. If you are ambitious and want to continue developing your aviation career, we want to help you obtain additional certifications and qualifications that can increase your responsibilities and opportunities within the company.
Why This Position Is Different
You won't simply be joining an established maintenance shop and performing assigned work.
You will have the opportunity to help build the shop.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to grow from an experienced mechanic into a maintenance leader and manager, with increasing responsibility as the business expands.
If you are an A&P or IA who is looking for a long-term opportunity where your skills, leadership and ambition can directly influence your career and your compensation, we would like to hear from you.
